Helmut...

Vardy not only lunges...but he made contact on Adrian's Shin...

Intentional...Reckless...Dangerous play...

Well worthy of a Red...by comparison to Adrian's...

Worst Ref in the Prem...

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
Texas, reckless doesn't need intent.

No one disagrees that Adrian didn't mean it.

But the laws of the game are clear.

No big surprise

The FA is bent

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
From FIFA's refereeing guidelines....

“Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary
use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent.
• A player who uses excessive force must be sent off

Serious foul play
A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality
against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play.
A tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as
serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the
front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force
and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play unless
there is a clear subsequent opportunity to score a goal. The referee must send
off the player guilty of serious foul play when the ball is next out of play.
A player who is guilty of serious foul play should be sent off and play is
restarted with a direct free kick from the position where the offence occurred
(see Law 13 – Position of free kick) or a penalty kick (if the offence occurred
inside the offender’s penalty area).

Not one mention of intent.

They should have looked at Vardy's straight leg lunge at Adrian again.

Helmut Shown 8:22 Tue Aug 18
Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
I can't understand the logic. In the first half Vardy lunges at Adrian as he attempts to clear he was looking at Adrian at the time and the ref gives a yellow card. Adrian collides with Vardy as he attempts to pull the ball back toward goal and he is looking the other way and is unlikely to have seen Vardy until the last second resulting in a red card.

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
So if that's the red then every overhead kick scored should be disallowed and the player sent off for they are also following the ball with their eyes and kicking their legs high into the air ... what a fucking load of bollocks💩

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
Brussels...

Wasn't reckless...as he didn't intend to kick Vardy...as he was facing the other way when he started to kick the ball...

Unfortunate collision...as Vardy was moving towards Adrian ...

Texas - in the rules intention is irrelevant. Key is whether it's reckless.

Ridiculous Red...

Ridiculous Ruling ...

Should have been Rescinded...

Clearly Unintentional...Yellow card was the correct decision...

The fact the team is losing is enough to suggest that those methods to score should be discarded.

The chance of the keeper going up and resulting in a goal being scored (not necessarily by him) is small and there is the increased likelihood of us conceding. But 1 point saved would be more valuable than, say, 5 more goals conceded.

His error was reckless play.

Herts Hammer 8:10 Tue Aug 18
Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
It doesn't have to be intentional. Just reckless.

It was inevitable, one of the 2 players we can not afford to lose (the other being Sakho).
Next game Sakho will get injured.

Re: Adrian Red Card STANDS!!
He was just trying to hook the ball back into the area, he didn't even know he was there..you'd be getting red cards for bumping into someone soon ffs..

Ref thought it was intentional, if it had been an outfield player, yellow...

He gave the red because he thought Adrian was taking a yellow to get back in goal..

Ref called intentional...

It wasn't

What if the foul was committed by a defender and Schmeichel was in goal. Defender sent off.

What's the difference?
